Objects of Desire
This is a silly little series. It has to do with a list I started some time back, beginning with the now oft repeated mantra "and I would like a diamond tiara", which is how I respond to my children's requests for unrealistic material acquisitions.
Now that I have been around the block a few times, and though I like to think quantistically upon occasion, I realize that dreams are the stuff of happiness only in so much as they do not distract you from the here and now. In every self help book we are encouraged to visualize our reality the way we want it, and so I am starting to do just that. This will be a series of quick mixed media renditions of the objects of my desire, so that I might visualize them and, who know, perhaps actually attain some...now if someone could just direct me to the royal pawn shop...

A few years back my nephews, while visiting here on the island, once spotted a tiara in a a hippie market in ibiza town and wanted to pool their piggie banks to purchase it for me. I like the fact that I don't have one, I toy with the idea of desire, I actually want the desire, not the desired...
